The first international Spirit of Amarok competition took place in Botswana at Kwalata Game Ranch in the Tuli Block during September 2015. The degree of difficulty, when compared with the Spirit of Africa final, was increased to allow the contestants to prove their worth.

Five teams each from Australia, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa competed in the "ultimate test drive" in a Volkswagen Amarok. The prize for the best team - "4x4 International Spirit of Amarok Champion" This went to Alwyn and Melanie Jordaan of Namibia.
